No Enthulo Artist Residency Award 2026

Super excited to be the first Irish Artist to be awarded the No Enthulo Artists Residency with Artworks in Portugal. No Entulho (NE)Translates as No Debris. It is and international artist residency platform created and developed by ArtWorks that focuses on the use of surplus material from industrial production. It is structured around projects that rethink this material according to different logics, supporting artists and providing a residency program.I attended a research visit to Portugal for the residency in late 2024 and was very impressed with the Art Works Sculpture Foundation and the scale of works being carried out there. I was given a guided tour of the Artists Studio and workshop and looked at some of the previous works carried out there. Artworks is a specialist sculpture workshop located in Póvoa de Varzim Northern Portugal and has created some major artworks for International sculptors like Olafur Eliasson, Gustavo Sumpta, Maria Paz and others. I am looking forward to creating new work made from industrial debris from local window fabrication company Ottima to create some new art work.
