The concept for this new sculpture entitled All Is Well was created via an ongoing arts participation program of events in collaboration Poet Mary C Reilly and local residents. A series of open days on the green involving exposure to various art forms took place to invite participation from local residents along with spoken word sessions and creative writing with adult groups and young people. The outcome is a a parametric sculptural installation with embedded textual elements created by local residents and poets Mary C Reilly and Paddy Guthrie. The texts refer to “Life on the hill” and the proximity of the estate to Blind Hugh’s well which is located nearby. The 4 panels are centre stage on the green in the estate and were informed by cutting edge developments in computational design using growth forms and voronoi patterns responding to the location of the estate near to Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay. Computational Design was assisted by Amir Khazaei (Tehran/USA) and fabrication by Olandi Engineering, Castlebar Co Mayo.
